June 17th, 18th, & 19th Savannah, Ga Skidaway Island State Park
Headed out for Skidway from Myrtle Beach heading down route 17.  Passed numerous rv parks, beach stores south of the Myrtle Beach State park.  Arrived at Skidaway Island State Park around 5pm.  Skidaway is about 20 minutes southeast of Savannah Georgia.  We spent the next day, June 18th touring downtown Savannah and the day after that, June 19th, at Tybee Island Beach.  The water again was like bath water.  We watched numerous container ships going in and out of the entrance to the port.  Savannah is the 2nd largest port on the east coast.
"Life is like a box of chocolates"  Chippewa Square:This is the spot where Forest Gump sat on the park bench and waited for the bus.  The park bench is now in the visitor center museum.  They have 22 squares in downtown Savannah and we saw them all.  We parked at the visitor center(rv friendly) and took a trolley tour to see the downtown.

At Chippewa  Square a family asked if I would take their picture,  They had bought a box of chocolates at Buford Ga and were each eating a piece wile I took the picture.  Forest bought his box at Buford.

Here is the best ice cream store in Savannah and we waited on line about a half hour. The couple behind us took the picture and he had grown up in Framingham!

Elaine liked this shirt she saw in the Savannah visitor center gift shop.

Our campsite at Skidaway Island State Park, site 73.  Skidaway Island turned out to be a very spacious and excellent camping site. See the Spanish Moss hanging in the tree above the camper.
