June 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, Tomoka State Park, Ormond Beach,  Fl  Our next stop after Skidaway and Savannah was Tomoka State Park located just a few miles north of Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach.  The park is located on the mainland so you have to travel south a few miles and then north again on the barrier island to get to a beach where we could park the rv.  The beach was great and the water was warm.  We were able to park the rv right at the edge of the beach.  We were there 4 nights and 3 full days.  We spent two of the days at the beach and shopping and visiting a museum on a rainy day. On Saturday we spent 4 hours at the beach, showered in the rv at the beach and then went to the Daytona Speedway for a 1.5 hour guided tour. Downtown Daytona has a great chocolate factory where I stocked up on some dark chocolate treats.  We also went on a shopping hunt for a new car radio for the rv.  Found a great buy in Walmart(my 2018 new best store ever, 2017 best store ever was Dollar General)) where I also bought some great beach shoes.  Did I mention that I am in love with Walmart?

Great action movie of pelicans diving for fish.

Great blue heron wandering along the shore.

Really interesting movie of hermit crabs

Museum of Art and Science at Daytona.  Very interesting planetarium show.

View of the seating at the Daytona 500 viewed from the infield. They colored the seats alternating red, blue, yellow, green,  and white to  trick the tv viewers into thinking all the seats are full.

A practice car racing while we toured the infield.

They even have rv hook ups for fans who have the money to burn on the infield.

This is where they used to race on the beach at Daytona.

This is the modern day track overview.
