June 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th Jupiter and Delray
Our next stop was just north of Jupiter, Fl at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. It was a short 4 mile drive south to Jupiter Beach Park. The town beach had a nice parking lot that allowed rvs and the beach was 100 feet from where we parked. The water was warm and the beach and surf were great. We went to the beach all three days. We also fit in a visit to the fancy Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. I bought a great smoothy and hung out in the food court with my laptop while Elaine shopped. Jonathan Dickinson State park had some great paved roads for biking. We explored the highest point in southern Florida, Hobe Mountain, elevation 86 feet! After four nights there we headed south for Delray and a visit to the daughter of a friend. We stayed at the Delraton RV park near the coast after our visit.
A good view of our site at Jonathan Dickinson state park. We had a frequent bird visitor to the top of the palm tree to the left who entertained us often.
Biking around the campsite we saw this interesting sign. But we did not see any actual alligators!
Treated ourselves to some fancy drinks at the local tiki bar in downtown Jupiter, the Square Grouper. The blackened Mahi-Mahi salad was excellent.
A view east towards the ocean from atop a viewing tower perched on top of Hobe Mountain.
Here is our nice parking spot at the Jupiter Beach Park.
Heading south towards Delray, we went through Palm Beach and stopped for a quick photo of Elaine's uncles house. He has passed and her cousin has it up for sale.
Heading south we stopped and toured the Loggerhead Marine Life Center at Juno Beach. It is basically a turtle hospital.
The turtle hospital was started by a women from the next town over from us in Holden, Massachusetts.
Here is a neat skeleton of a turtle.
Leslie and Elaine poolside after late afternoon cocktails and catching up.
Our one night site at the Del Raton RV park.
